Free, and it lives on your phone – no app store.
Have a read of how it works, then grab it below.
A free little app for tracking every bit of money that comes your way – the invoices, the surprise refunds, the fiver in a coat pocket – and watching it all add up.
Two taps. The client payment and the coin found in the trolley both count.
Days become months, months become a number you didn't expect.
Once you start logging, you start seeing money everywhere you used to miss it. And money likes the attention – the more of it you notice, the more of it seems to find you.
Set a goal and something in you wakes up to money. You start seeing what comes in, where from, and how close you are to the number you picked. What you pay attention to grows, and money is no exception – it likes to be appreciated, and it has a way of finding the people who are open to receiving it.
Zatsuma gives you a figure to aim at each month, a bar that fills as you go, and a cheer when you're getting close. Not magic. Attention, pointed somewhere useful, and a total that keeps climbing.
Here's what it looks like from the inside, so it's familiar the moment you open it. About five minutes to find your feet, then it's a ten-second habit.
On HOME, tap SET A GOAL and put in the figure you'd love to see this month. A goal gives your attention somewhere to point, and you start noticing what comes in and where from. Watch LEFT TO GO shrink as the month fills up.
Tap the big + and type the amount. Pick MONEY for cash in – an invoice, a surprise refund, the tenner in a coat pocket – or VALUE for worth that isn't cash, like a gifted collaboration, a voucher or a freebie. Both count, both add up.
First time in, make a category for where the money came from – Studio, Coaching, whatever fits – give it a colour and tap SAVE. That colour paints your donut on HOME and your bars in REPORTS, so one look tells you the shape of your month, and it marks every entry in your list with a matching dot. After that the category's already there, so it's one tap and done.
ENTRIES is your full list, day by day – tap any line to change or delete it.
REPORTS breaks it down by month, quarter, year or any stretch you pick, and sends the lot out as a CSV whenever you want your numbers in a spreadsheet.
MORE is where the rest of my stuff lives, and where you'll find “Something not working? Tell me” – straight to my inbox.
This is a beta, you're early, and the clunky bits and the bright ideas are both exactly what I want to hear.
That's the whole app – track your money, and watch it grow. 🍊
Years ago there was a little app that did this. You logged every bit of money that arrived and watched it stack up, and it did something to your brain – you started noticing money you'd have walked straight past. Then it stopped being supported, and it's been slowly fading ever since. People kept missing it. So I built my own.
Free, and free forever. I built Zatsuma because I wanted it to exist, and I want you to have it, and to build a proper relationship with your money.
Quick and clear: Zatsuma works, I use it every day, but it's a beta – a work in progress, not a finished product. You're one of the first people in, which is exactly the point.
Signing up is easy. It asks for your email – twice, to catch typos – and you're in. That's it. No passwords, no login faff.
Open it on your phone, then add it to your home screen so it opens like a real app – full screen, its own icon, no browser bar.
New to an app like this? The questions below cover the rest.
Yes. The app is free, and free forever! I built it because I wanted it to exist.
No. Zatsuma is a web app. Open the link on your phone and add it to your home screen – you get a real icon and a full-screen app, no App Store or Play Store needed.
Completely. Every entry you make stays on your own device and is never uploaded anywhere. The only thing kept centrally is your sign-up details – email, name, country – so I can reach you; you're on my newsletter, and that's how you'll hear about updates. Your actual money data never leaves your phone.
None. Your email, typed twice to catch a typo, and you're in.
Not yet. Each device keeps its own data, so pick one home for it – your phone is the one to use.
Yes. Reports show you any month, quarter, year or a custom range, and export the lot to a CSV whenever you want it.
MONEY is cash that comes in. VALUE is worth that isn't cash – a gifted collaboration, a voucher, something you'd otherwise have paid for. Log both, keep them apart, see the whole picture.
Tell me – that's the whole point of a beta, and your eyes on it are why you're here early. Once you sign up you're on my newsletter, so the quickest way to reach me is to reply to any email I send you; it comes straight to my inbox and I read every one. The clunky bits and the bright ideas both.
